Introduction

911 emergency services have been provided in our municipality, through Bell Canada since 2001.

When you dial 9-1-1 you will reach a professional dispatch service for First Response / Ambulance, Fire Department and / or Ontario Provincial Police.

You must dial 9-1-1 only in emergency situations. Do not call this number for information or to inquire about available services from these emergency service providers. Consult your Bell Canada telephone book for these numbers.

If you live in a rural area or have a cottage on one of the many side roads in St.-Charles, your property now has a small green 9-1-1 number posted at the end of your property. You will need to know this number in case of an emergency so the police, fire fighters or ambulance can find you as quickly as possible.

We recommend the following:

  1. Write down the number near or on your phone (even underneath) so you can read it when you are faced with an emergency.
  2. Keep the number clear of branches, grass, snow or other to ensure they are visible.
  3. Call the municipal council (705) 867-2032 should your number become damaged or lost.
